Who I Work With

The short answer to this is everyone!

A really great massage can work wonders for us all, and each and every body is welcome on my massage table, but more specifically I treat people who are in pain, and have often tried many treatments and therapies without success.

I treat all types of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain including back pain, sciatica, neck pain, whiplash, frozen shoulder, sports injuries, knee pain, plus ligament and tendon issues.

I also treat systemic conditions like fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, long covid, and hypermobility conditions such as Ehler's Danlos Syndrome. As well as stress, anxiety, IBS, issues associated with the menopause and peri-menopause, and insomnia.

Headaches, migraines and jaw pain are areas of special interest for me. For jaw tension and facial pain, teeth grinding and/or clenching, being unable to open the mouth properly and tooth pain when it seems like there is nothing wrong with the tooth itself, I offer specialist TMJ  massage.

I welcome all pregnant people for pregnancy and postpartum clinical massage. These treatments are specifically designed to reduce pain across all trimesters as well as being super relaxing.

And yes... You are most welcome to come purely for a relaxation massage, this is an excellent reason for treatment and Advanced Clinical Massage, Advanced Clinical Hot Stone Massage and Bliss Bomb Hot Stone Massage treatments are all highly recommended.

What I Do

As a Jing Method™ therapist, I use the best advanced bodywork techniques from both the East and the West to get excellent results, in terms of pain reduction and improvement in overall quality of life. A treatment with me can include hot stone massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point massage, myofascial release, acupressure, and stretches.

The Jing Method™ is a holistic and unique approach based on the biopsychosocial model of pain and modern neuroscience. For many people, it is an effective alternative to going to an osteopath, chiropractor or physiotherapist.

We are more than just the bit that hurts. Eastern modalities such as acupuncture have always known this, and the West is catching up. This is why working within the biopsychosocial model is now so widely recognised as being the most helpful approach to treating pain.

My aim is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible, however, a treatment with me is YOUR treatment. My approach is trauma informed and I work in collaboration with the people who choose me as their therapist. This means, as well as taking a detailed case history, carrying out range of motion assessment and special orthopaedic testing where clinically appropriate, during your consultation we will discuss and plan together exactly how you would like your treatment to be, whether there are any parts of your body you do not want to have touched or parts of your body you would like to keep covered for the duration of the massage. We'll talk about positioning, making sure you are comfortable on the massage table and anything else you may be concerned about. All of this is relevant and is so important to you having a good experience.

More About Me

I really love what I do!

I qualified in Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage with the prestigious Jing Institute of Advanced Clinical Massage and Complementary Medicine here in Brighton. I feel incredibly fortunate to have Jing Massage here on my doorstep and have also trained with them in Hot Stone Fusion Massage, TMJ Specialist Massage, Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage, Caesarean, Hysterectomy and Mastectomy Scar Massage, and Advanced Myofascial Release.

In 2024 I achieved the BTEC Level 6 qualification in Advanced Clinical Massage. This is the equivalent of an undergraduate degree and is the highest qualification for massage therapists in the UK. With this unique qualification Jing are raising the standard of the UK massage industry so that it is comparable to the US where clinical massage is a regulated profession.

I practice astanga yoga 5 days a week and have done so for many years. I believe this brings an extra depth and quality to my treatments.

I follow a vegan diet and lifestyle and I am interested in and passionate about all aspects of health and well-being.  When I'm not working, I enjoy cooking and eating. I love a margarita or two, and to travel as much as possible.

Most of all I love spending time with 'the little boss' my chihuahua, Chica.

Jing massage therapist treating neck pain

“I floated out of the session in the most amazingly relaxed state. When I arrived my sciatica and back where so painful I couldn’t walk any distance. Two days after my massage, for the first time in months I had no pain. I have continued to work with Nicky for the last few months and am so so much better. I have never had any treatment that has relieved pain so quickly and been so effective”
